Your Local Policing Update: Operation Ashmara Outcomes

This week, between 28th September – 1st October, local SNT officers carried out three days of targeted policing activity across Edgware, Burnt Oak, Colindale North & South, Hendon and West Hendon. These increased patrols were carried out by your local teams, with assistance from the wider MPS and specially trained officers & units. 

The operation was directly shaped by what our communities have been telling us, alongside the policing priorities identified for each ward. In particular, we focused on concerns around anti-social behaviour, drug possession/misuse & dangerous and careless driving.

We know that some of the issues affecting our neighbourhoods occur later at night, which is why our officers adapted their working hours to ensure we were in the right places at the right times. Your concerns and the information you provide to us help shape where and when we deploy our officers.

We are committed to tackling the issues that matter to our communities and making our neighbourhoods safer places to live, work and visit. This activity does not stop here. We will continue to listen to our residents and take proactive action across our wards.

Operation Ashmara delivered significant results across our neighbourhoods:

🚗13 vehicles seized
🔑3 stolen vehicles recovered
📋31 moving traffic offences identified and prosecuted
🔪2 knives recovered
👮Numerous intelligence-led stop and searches, resulting in drugs being recovered
